MELISSA BARNETT (Nita-Kay Zirlott) has returned for her third year in the Dramatic Society. Something must be compelling her to continuously work with this strange, eclectic group of people. Mel would just like to remind everybody that she got the role by being her sweet and innocent self onstage and off.

 
JOE BRIGANTE (Eli Kronenberg) This is Joe's first semester at Stevens, and his first show with the SDS. He has been in the past 5 productions of his high school and has managed to land the part of "extra" all five times. He is incredibly excited to finally have a character with both a first and last name, and looks forward to doing further productions.

 
SARAH LYDIA HOSKINSON (Mozelle Hutto) is joining the DS crew for her second show here at Stevens, her first being How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying in which she played Hedy LaRue. Past show experience includes her roles of Babe O'Day in Good News, Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Snetsky in Fools, Cookie in Rumors, Sally Brown in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and many others. Sarah would like to thank everyone in DS for making this show happen.

 
ANDREW KEANE (Sheriff C. Wayne Hutto) This is Andrew Keane's first show with The Stevens Dramatic Society. He was a member of International Thespian Society Troupe 696 at Rocky Point High School. His past plays include A Midsummer Night's Dream and Our Town. He is currently a freshman at Stevens.

 
MARIA A. MANACHERIL (Dr. Joanne King) is a freshman at Stevens Tech. In high school, she was quite an active thespian, working both onstage and off, and is quite excited to make her acting debut at Stevens. In addition to being a member of the Stevens Dramatic Society, Maria is a member of the Stevens Choir and of the Pakistani Student Association. She looks forward to more performances at Stevens and hopes to be very involved in SDS.

 
DEAGLAN McNAMARA (Billy Ladnier), known by his closest friends as "The Little Irishman Who Could," began his work with the Stevens Dramatic Society during his first semester at Stevens. When asked why he joined the DS Deaglan responded, "They have a good dental plan." He has tried to play characters that exemplify his real life persona, so as to keep the actual acting required of him to a minimum. In Getting Away with Murder, Deaglan played Robert the Elevatorman. This exemplifies Deaglan's love of low paying jobs and lack of responsibility. He continued on to play Bud Frump in How to Succeed in Business... Bud Frump was the character who did not succeed in business. In this presentation of Standard Deviation, Deaglan will play Billy. Billy is the manager of a barbed wire factory. Deaglan will need a lot of barbed wire in his immediate future to keep the bill collectors at bay. He will be accepting food donations after the play. Look for the skinny fellow with a cardboard sign.

 
GUS RATH (Deputy Chip) This is Gus's first SDS production but hot his first stage experience. He was a very active member of his high school's dramatic arts. His desire to be on stage has introduced him to plays from Oklahoma! to Little Shop of Horrors to The Miracle Worker, as well as many others. Gus is thrilled to be a part of this cast and looks forward to pretending to be stupid (pretending ... yeah, that's it).

 
CHRISTINA CASS (Director) is the artistic drector of Smatter Theatre Ensemble, a six-year-old, New York-based theatre company producing works by emerging American playwrights and revivals of "lost" works. Most recent productions include the critically-acclaimed The Norman Conquests trilogy by Alan Ayckbourn, The Journey of the Fifth Horse by Ronald Ribman, Prom Queens: A Rock Musical, and three one-act festivals. Directing credis include: The Journey of the Fifth Horse by Ronald Ribman, Antioch by Kevin Monk, Ludlow Fair by Lanford Wilson and F2F by Alan David Perkins.  She also wrote and directed Pacific (Ensemble Studio Theatre) and Prom Queens: A Rock Musical (No. Moore Bar, TriBeCa).  Other writing credis include:  Smatter 2001; Bachelorette; and the one woman shows, Will They Like Me? (Don't Tell Mama's) and Throes of Healing (The Village Gate).  She can also be heard on the original cast recordings of Prom Queens and Adam Safir's musical Caffeine.  She has had the honor to work with Terrence McNally and Jack O'Brien on the workshop version of The Full Monty (The Old Globe), Scott Ellis on the workshop of The Boys from Syracuse (Roundabout) and Joe Dowling on London Assurance (Roundabout).  Christina is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild and is thrilled to be working with the talented drama group here at Stevens Institute.

 
PAUL J. BENNETT (Production Manager) is happy to be beginning his fifth and final year here at Stevens.  His credits include Lighting Design, Production Management, Sound Design, Set Design, and general crew for Music Into Words, The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, Children of Eden, Rumors, Nunsense, Once on this Island, Having a Wonderful Time Wish You Were Her, The Miracle Worker, Kiss Me Kate, Ragtime, Pippin and Godspell for both Stevens Dramatic Society and The Center for the Performing Arts.  Other recent lighting design credits include Brighton Beach Memoirs and Once on this Island for Jersey City's School for the Gifted at new Jersey City University, and Seascape for The Attic Ensemble.

 
BRIAN CREWSICK (Sound Technician)  After a stint as Assistant Sound Technician for last Spring's production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Brian returns, this time as Sound Technician, with absolutely no plans to hide subliminal messages in the show's sound and music causing audience members to buy more blueberry muffins in the first step of his master plan to change the colors of Luxembourg's flag to lavender, sepia and forest green.  No such plans at all.

 
PITOR CZERECHOWSKI (Business Manager, Master Carpenter) After being on stage for a couple of performances, Pitor is back where he rightfully belongs; behind the scenes.  Shockingly, for the first time in his Dramatic Society career, Pitor is not working with the lighting.  He has decided to focus his talents once again toward carpentry for the first time since high school.  When not working on the set, Pitor will be extremely busy making sure the Society does not go bankrupt or suffers any other financial woes.  This is Pitor's third year at Stevens and fourth show with SDS.

 
SHAINA DOHERTY (Props Coordinator) has decided to suffer once more as props manager for Standard Deviation.  She has been involved with the Drama Society for 2 years and has enjoyed every minute of it.  Her fist show was Getting Away With Murder where she began her prop providing debut.  She also plans not to audition for the spring musical, much to the dismay of some of the society's members.

 
VANESSA PANZARINO (Artistic Designer)  This is Vanessa's first production with the Stevens Dramatic Society, in fact, it's her first production ever.  She tried to lay low, becoming assistant artistic coordinator but got promoted to head artistic designer even though the poor production manager, Paul, ended up doing all the real work and she just showed up smiles and is her midget self.  She would like to thank her parents for making her almost legally handicapped, but more importantly, her soulmate and one true love, Tony Danza.

 
DIANA ROONEY (Lighting Designer)  The three-year struggle from the chains and evil vices of the Costume Designer's department is finally over!  Yes, our heroine Diana the Costume Mommy has finally perfected her kung-fu chop, and has vowed never to touch a sewing needle again!  She has finally converted to the light side!  Rejoice!  Be Glad!  This is Diana's fifth show for SDS.  She is also a member of the DeBaun Auditorium, where she has worked on 5 other productions (costuming, and lighting, as one might guess).  Diana is a Junior Civil Engineer Major, and also a member of the Stevens Swim Team.

 
ALI SAAEM (Master Electrician) is a 4/5 in Steven's CO-OP program.  Though majoring in Computer Engineering, Ali has an avid interest in the arts.  His interests also include creative writing and photography.  Standard Deviation is Ali's first effort as a member of the Stevens Dramatic Society.  In this production, he serves in the 'behind-the-scenes' role of Master Electrician on the production board.

 
CHRISTINE SETIAN (Publicity Manager, Hair & Makeup Coordinator, Costumes Coordinator)  This is Christine's third show with the Stevens Dramatic Society, so she figured she may as well hold three positions.  She is reprising her role as Hair and Makeup Coordinator and has taken on the (insane) task of being Costume Coordinator.  She would like to thank everyone for hanging in there even with Wednesday night costume additions.  She would also like to thank Ray and Ken for all their help publicizing the show.

 
NICOLE YOUNG (Vice-President, Stage Manager) joins the production of Standard Deviation as her fifth Dramatic Society show.  Of course, she didn't know what she was getting into when she signed up for Stage Manager, never having sat through rehearsals before, but it's half the fun.  Her previous Dramatic Society experience includes pit on Cinderella in '02, costumes for Kiss Me, Kate and Getting Away With Murder, both in '03, and winning "Props Bitch for Life" during How to Succeed in Business in '04.  Nicole is currently in the fourth of five years (co-op) and looks forward to DS shows to come.  She would like to thank the cast for being the best group of actors she's dealt with (and warns they better stay that way from when she wrote this to closing night), the director for making those long rehearsals fun, Josh (producer) and Chrissy (publicity manager) for all the had work and long nights, and her awesomely supportive, wonderful, and understanding boyfriend Scott for all the quality time he spent alone while she worked on the show.

 
JOSHUA ZAWISLAK (President, Producer) is the current President of the Stevens Dramatic Society and has been a member for over 4 years now.  He has worked on the technical side of many DS productions over the years.  He is also a student manager for DeBaun Auditorium and a member of TAP,  having been working in technical theater since middle school.  Josh also enjoys long walks on the beach, watching sunsets and lunar eclipses.  During his free time away from the theater Josh is involved with Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, SITtv, Khoda and sometimes going to computer science classes.  He would like to thank everyone who helped out in this production and make it the great show that it is.
