Bios and Credits


BILL BIFULCO (Plato) is happy to be making his debut with THE OPEN BOOK. His recent credits include Peter Gilbert in The Browning Version, Billy in Stage Door and, in film, a Depression-era farmer for Woody Allen. Bill studied at the HB Studios.

SARALEE KAYE (Nadine) returns to THE OPEN BOOK after a lengthy hiatus, during which time she became a licensed physician assistant. A charter member of THE OPEN BOOK, she has performed in numerous shows, including the group's signature piece, Poetry in Motion. Her short story, Ladies' Choice, appears in a Doubleday anthology. Her current work in progress is a novel set in the worlds of medicine and theatre.

SHENICA-ROCHELLE ODOM (Cutiepie) marks her debut with THE OPEN BOOK. she recently appeared in the off-off-Broadway success, Back Together, and is currently wrapping the filming of Death Cartel. "I'd like to thank my family for their support, and all of my friends, especially Laila Ayesha, for their encouragement."

JOHN PUDDINGTON (Cheese) says he "has quit being a nice guy." He acted at teh Abbey Theatre in Ireland in W.B. Yeats's At the Hawk's Well, and in London in the Drama Centre production of John Ford's Tis Pity She's a Whore, with Pierce Brosnan. On TV: Dallas and other shows.

SENDHIL RAMAMURTHY (Horndog) graduated from Tufts University and then trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. This is Sendhil's professional stage debut and his first appearance with THE OPEN BOOK.

RUSTY THRASHER (Phyllis) appears for the first time with THE OPEN BOOK. Among the many NYC stage productions he has performed in is the Next Theater Company's production of Disguises of War, the Pulse Ensemble's The Two Lovers, and O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night, directed by Ken Terrell. Rusty's TV credits include appearances on As the World Turns, Beverly Hills 90210, The Guiding Light and One Life to Live.


ANGELYNN CERRIDWEN (Director) has directed locally, regionally and internationally. She directed Chinese nationals in A Thurber Carnival (in English) in Jingdezhen, China, and last season directed The Open Book's production of The Edith Whartons. She played the lead in Canadian Gothic at colleges and universities in China and Japan, and has parlayed her international experience into a course that encourages exploration of the English language through drama, which she teaches at CUNY.

MEIKA KAN (Lighting) has lit stages in Japan. This is her NY premiere.

MARVIN KAYE (Artistic Director of The Open Book) has written 15 novels and six nonfiction books and has edited numerous fiction and theatre anthologies, including 13 Plays of Ghosts and the Supernatural, Sweet Revenge, Frantic Comedy, Readers Theatre and Pen to Stage. Mr. Kaye recently taught a writing seminar in England for the Smithsonian Institute, and is Adjunct Professor of Creative Writing at NYU. His biography appears in Who's Who in Entertainment. Mr. Kaye is a reiki master and a cranio-sacral therapist trained by The Upledger Institute.

THE OPEN BOOK (Producer), founded in 1975, is a nonprofit ensemble of actors, educators, singers and writers. The Open Book's intimate "living-room" style, sometimes called Visual Radio, employs the mythic power of language to restimulate audience imagination.
